CO CAVAN UNEVEN AGE, JUNIOR & MASTER CROSS COUNTRY

KILNALECK OCT 1 2005

The rain just about stayed off on Saturday for the race meet. Thanks must be given to Carol Kiernan and Innyvale AC for hosting the event and for providing the hot tea, sandwiches and refreshments on the day.

Evelyn O'Reilly gave Annalee AC a great start in the first event, the Ladies Masters. Evelyn won the individual gold and Mags Fitzpatrick and Eileen Watters made up the 1st place Team in the event. Fionan O'Reilly kept with Shercock's Noel Carroll for the first half of the Junior Men's 6k race but eventually had to settle for 2nd place. Aodhagan O'Reilly took 3rd place in the 4K event and Ryan McCabe had a great race to finish in 5th spot. Cian O'Reilly and Ryan Little were well clear of the other runners in the U15 Boys 2K event and easily finished in 1st and 2nd place. Francis Moore came 2nd in the U13 Boys and the remainder of his team mates packed in well to take the 2nd team prize. Conor Bates ran extremely well to finish in 3rd spot in the U11 Boys and Kian Monaghan was very close behind in 4th place. The U11 Boys took the 1st Team prize. The U9 Annalee boys completely dominated their race, taking all of the top 7 positions. The U9 Girls also ran very well with Aine Brady and Clodagh O'Reilly taking 1st and 2nd and Emma Conaty in 4th. In the very competitive U11 girls, Annalee athletes won 1st Team prize. The U13 Girls were just out of the team prizes despite good performances from Grace Monaghan,  Kate McDonald, Bronagh Mc Breen and Clara Wilson.

The initial  points tally leaves Annalee AC in a close 2nd place, 8 points behind Shercock AC.
