Ulster Track & Field 2006
Finn Valley, Co Donegal
June 11th 2006
Annalee athletes performed extremely well at the 2006 Ulster Track and Field Championships. Gold medals in the individual events were won by Regina Dolan (U 13 Hurdles and 4th 600m), Jamie Conaty (U13 Hurdles) and Kian Monaghan (Shot putt) as well as Aine Brady (U9) and Donal Monaghan (U10) in the combined events of 60m , Long Jump and Ball Throw. Other medal winning athletes were Darren Watters (silver, U12 Hurdles), Caoimhin O'Reilly (U11 60m silver and 4th 600m), Andrew Creamer (3rd in both the 60m and Long Jump) and Conall McGinley (3rd in the Ball Throw). Lauren Sexton was unlucky to miss out on a medal placing as 4 athletes crossed the finish line together in the U12 60m. Ciara Murray was in silver medal position on the final bend when the athlete running just behind collided with her and Ciara lost her shoe and was knocked off the track. Other athletes who put in great performances included Paul Sexton (Silver U10), Katie Fitzpatrick(silver U9), Sean Og Lawlor (Silver U10), Ciara Fitzpatrick (Bronze U9), Aodhagan Watters (Silver U10) , Ciara Fitzpatrick( Bronze U10), Conor Bates (5th 600M), Ciaran Schutten (6th 600m), Clodagh O'Reilly (Bronze U10), Emma Conaty (bronze U10), Gavin Sherlock (bronze U10), Laura Young(6th 600m), Yvette Schutten (finalist 60m), Aoife Murphy (finalist 60m), Orla Murphy, Sarah Young (bronze U10), Aisling Brady, Sarah Murray, Colm Brady, Shane Fitzpatrick, Francis Lunney, Padraig Moore, Eadaoin O'Reilly and Bronagh McBreen. Many of the athletes jumped personal bests in the long jump, so Enda's hard work in preparing the long jump pit has really paid off. Athletes and Coaches alike were disappointed by the absence of relays from this years championships.

ALL IRELAND INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS MARCH 2006
Regina Dolan of Annalee AC won an All-Ireland bronze medal when she came third in the U13 60M Hurdles in a very competitive race in Nenagh on Sunday March 26th. She ran a time of 10.86 seconds. There was a photofinish to decide 3rd and 4th places and the athletes had to endure an anxious wait. This is a superb result for Gina as she only took up hurdles two months ago. Well done to her and to the coaches. Congratulations to Yvette Schutten who ran well in the U12 60M on Saturday, finishing 10th overall.
