ticket for £1 and then the attendant will take you down stairs to where the Calenders are kept. The calenders begin in 1858 and give details such as Name, address, marital status of the deceased, the dates of death and probate, names and addresses of the executers and the value of the assets of the deceased. You
will then be able to look through the books to find your ansestor. Write down the details. You then write
to the National Archives, Bishop Street, Dublin 8 with the correct amount of money and you'll receive a copy of your will in
the post. Cost is listed in the Probate office There are two kinds of copies.A.
A certified copy or B. An uncertified copy.

Have you ever thought of looking at newspapers for background information
for your family histories. Sometimes you might find an obituary or and article
written about a historical event eg. The sinking of a ship. Another source for
articles such as these are the Journals of the Cork Historical and Archealogical
Society. The Cork City Library has copies of the Journal and a good selection of local mewspapers.
