SUBJECT Killeagh Cemetery
MESSAGE I was impressed with Stephen Gammell's account of Killeagh Cemetery.  As I am researching my family tree, would it be possible for him to e-mail me a copy of the list of headstones in the cemetery that he refers to in his article, please ?

I will pay any necessary fee.
Many thanks.

SUBJECT Xmas Greetings to my long-lost Tuite cousins
MESSAGE Merry Christmas to my long-lost cousins around Oldcastle. My great grandfather Andrew Tuite was born in Oldcastle around 1837 and emigrated to Australia around 1860. I believe I have established a link into the large Tuite family that still lives in the area but more work to be done to verify. It was wonderful to see the photo of the Ballinacree School in 1950 with all the Tuite names including Sarah and Eileen which are my own daughters names.

SUBJECT AN HISTORIC MEATH RESIDENT IN AUSTRALIA - JOHN MURRAY
MESSAGE

My name is James Gray, I am an American living in Australia and I am working on a memorial presentation for the Australian Memorial Website. www.acwv.info, for an American Civil War veteran and a former resident of Meath, Ireland who died and was buried in Australia.

His name was John Murray, he migrated to the United States,  enlisted in the 7th U.S. Infantry, fought in the American Civil War in New Mexico and the southwest, survived and migrated to Australia, raised a family and died on August 26, 1908. A memorial plaque from the Veterans Administration was placed on his gravesite in 1992.

I am hoping you, or someone you know, can provide me with additional information and perhaps pictures related to him or his home town of that period, that I can use on his memorial presentation.

This website is an important tool in remembering these veterans and the Australian authorities have recently seen fit to archive the website in the National Library of Australia; so as to insure these men are never again forgotten.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
James Gray      cracker3@optusnet.com.au

MESSAGE Hi,
My name used to be Sheila Mc Inerney .I went to Gilson Schools from '46 to 52. There is very little family left in Ireland now . My brother Frank is still living in Dagenham. Sadly he lost his wife some years ago R.I.P.  I look at the Meath chronicle every week on the internet although I have lived in England since 53. Married 47 of those 4 grown up children and 3 grandchildren. I came across this website while perusing the net. Is there anyone out who remembers us?
Best Wishes

SUBJECT JUST DISCOVERED THIS WEBSITE
MESSAGE

MY SON WAS SURFING THE WEB AND CAME UPON A PHOTO OF MY GRANDFATHER JAMES J. BROWNE. IN 1998 I VISITED MY AUNT NELL IN OLDCASTLE AND SHE HAD THE SAME PICTURE ON HER PIANO WHICH I PHOTOGRAPHED, MADE COPIES AND DISTRIBUTED TO MY SIBLINGS. AUNT NELL WAS 28 YEARS YOUNGER THAN MY DAD, AND HIS STEPSISTER. SHE IS A REMARKABLE LADY AND FILLED MY IN QUITE A BIT ABOUT MY FATHERS FAMILY.

THERE ARE 12 PAGES ABOUT MY UNCLE LUKE INCLUDING HIS DIARY IN 1929 DESCRIBING HIS AND MY AUNT BEA'S TRIP TO VISIT MY GRANDFATHER JUST BEFORE HE PASSED AWAY. HIS GRANDDAUGHTER, GEORGIA SHAW  (WHOM I HAVE NEVER MET )POSTED THIS INFORMATION IN DEC. 2003. I WOULD LIKE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH HER.

ON THIS WEBSITE, "BALLINACREE HISTORICAL SOCIETY " IT WAS INTERESTING TO NOTE THE MANY PEOPLE FROM THE NEW YORK METROPOLITAN AREA. I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN MANHATTAN AND HAVE LIVE IN BERGEN COUNTY FOR MANY YEARS BUT STILL CONSIDER MYSELF A NEW YORKER.  WE LIVE A MILE AWAY FROM PEARL RIVER N. Y. IN ROCKLAND COUNTY, WHICH IS VERY OFTEN REFERRED TO AS "THE 33 rd COUNTY BECAUSE OF ALL THE IRISH AND IRISH DESCENDANTS LIVING THERE.

ONCE AGAIN, IT WAS A JOY TO FIND THIS WEBSITE.

SUBJECT Merry Christmas from a Descendant of Your Town
MESSAGE

We just discovered this web site today and found it to be very informative.  My father, Peter Browne was from Ballinacree, Co. Meath and came to New York City in 1926.  He and my Mom raised five children.  He worked at the Ritz Carlton Hotel and the Savoy Plaza Hotel in NYC.  He passed away in 1969.  I informed my siblings and children about this web site and they all thought it was very interesting and enlightening.  Will be visiting this web site often in the future.

Happy New Year to you all.  Just wanted to ask if anybody has any information on a place called Goat Hall.  My great-great grandfather (Philip Coyle), who was an auctioneer, lived in Goat Hall in the late 1800s.  I know that the Hall was in Hilltown and is now a pile of rubble but that is all I know.  If anybody remembers the place or could shed any light on it for me I would be most interested.
