Waterford Crystal factory, with it's new visitor centre, offers tours of it's premises each day.

Drive by Crooke and view Hook Head lighthouse in the distance - the landmark which has given use to the saying "By Hook or by Crooke".

Walk the quiet sandy beach at Woodstown and your appetite can he satisfied at any of the many good restaurants or pubs nearby.

Visit the Granary which houses artefacts of Waterford, giving visitors a better insight into Waterford and it's history.

The Passage East car ferry which crosses the mouth of the river Suir will take you to the village of Ballyhack and a whole new area to explore. Kennedy Park is a memorial to John F. Kennedy whose ancestors left from New Ross and whose ancestral home is now open to the public giving the visitor a historic account of the Kennedy family origins and how they left Ireland like many others to make a life in America. Drive through New Ross and visit the centre where a replica of a famine ship has been built and return home to Waterford.

While Waterford is a coastal City we are only half an hours drive from the Comeragh Mountains, an ideal place for hill-walking and a tranquil spot to get away from it all, only the cows and sheep will disturb your peace. At Mount Mellary Abbey, a Cistercian monestary near Cappoquin where the monks are still in residence can bring a whole new meaning to silence, while a little further on at Lusmore the castle appears in it's idyllic setting overlooking the Blackwater River. The heritage centre at Lusmore is also worth a visit.

Cross the mountain range through the Vee to Cahir and see Cahir Castle.

The medieval City of Kilkenny is only and for those of you interested in Architecture the Butler Castle overlooking the River Nore will be of Great interest. Visits to the House and The Black Abbey will not disappoint you.
