----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Sporting Year 2001-2002. The school has competed in practically all events open to it. While
repeating the wonderful achievement of 2001 was always going to be difficult
each boys and girls still gave of their all in their chosen fields. As usual the
cross country was held in terrible conditions. Paul Monahan ran a great race in
the boys event. High praise is due to Daniel OShaugnessy who represented his
school for the first time In the INTO 7 a side Caragh defeated Allenwood and Prosperous only to
lose out to a strong Derrinturn outfit. Mark O’Brien and Mark Power were very
effective. Derriturn also had the upper hand over the girls- here Emma Murphy
and Natasha Campbell were to the fore. The senior boys did not enjoy much luck
in their competition but the experience gained should stand them in good stead
for next year. Liam Bissell, Andy Connors, Paddy O’Brien and Michael Byrne
gained good experience. The U-10s likewise enjoyed no luck just failing to beat
Rathangan and Scoil Uí Riada. How
ever we did see some great performances from Derik Walsh, Gareth Malone and Dean
Heavey. At the time of writing the girls play a must win game against Athy. We
look forward to a great effort from Laura Doyle, Michelle O’ Drisscoll and the
Power twins. In mid June we hope to have our Fun sports day. We hope that each child
will participate in our day. Player Profile
