Grey Wagtail

 

We saw a Grey Wagtail close to Steele's Rock on the river Fergus last week,

When we were on our way to the library. Like Pied Wagtails,

They constantly wave their tails up and down, mimicking the movement of

Water and making them difficult to pick out. Their backs are grey but

Underneath they show a bright yellow lemon colour. They nest close to

Streams and rivers. The call is a loud zeet-eet. It feeds on insects, mainly

Flies, which it catches
