FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Congratulations and Good Luck to the 11 pupils from Cloonfad National  School who received their First Holy on Sunday May 4th.  Martina Brennan, Sandra Lyons, Michael Walsh, Maeve Regan, Michael McGuire, Chelsea McAnulty, Nicola Hunt, Louise Kilgarrif, Thomas McGuire, Vicky Miskell, Aron Moran.  Sincere thanks to their teacher Imelda Burke Flanagan for her wonderful job in preparing the class, also to Mary Regan, Mary Burke and Choir for the ‘back up help’.  Well done to all.

TEAMPALLAIN MHUIRE (CHILDRENS BURIEL GROUND) RESTORATION
The above committee will meet on Tuesday May 6 at 9.30pm in the Community Centre to discuss the ongoing work.  All members are asked to attend. Anyone wishing to make a donation to this project can do so to Bank Account Number 01066070; Sort Code 985270 in the Ulster Bank, Ballyhaunis, or to any of the committee members. Any donations would be most welcome & greatly appreciated.
CLOONFAD UTD
Sunday May 4th
. Cloonfad Utd F.C –v- Moore Utd.  Kick Off 2.30pm in Cloonfad.  Cloonfad Utd have qualified for the Roscommon Cup Final for the first time in 11 years.  They play Shiven Rovers on the 25th May at a venue to be decided – Be ready to support your local club on the day.
CEMETERY COMMITTEE
The people from Ballinross, Culkeen, Mountdelvin station areas are scheduled to meet on Monday evening at 7pm to cut the grass and attend to the cemetery.  You are asked to bring lawnmowers and strimmers if possible.  Our thanks to the people from Newtown, Curragh & Moigh station area who attended to the cemetery for last month.
MICHAEL GLAVEY’S GAA
Michael Glavey’s Senior team play Strokestown in the O’Rourke Cup on Sunday 3rd May at 12noon in Ballinlough.  Please support.
M.S. IRELAND
The Church gate collection on 12th & 13th April amounted to €553.74.  Many thanks to all who supported or helped with this collection.

MAY – MONTH OF OUR LADY

The Rosary will be recited in the Church on Monday and Friday evening at 7.45pm during the month of May.
PRAYER MEETING
The annual Mass for the Cloonfad Prayer Group will take place on Thursday evening May 15th at 8pm.  Two members of the Cenacelo Community (Knock) will speak at this Mass.  A wonderful testimony of their faith journey.  All are welcome.  A cup of tea afterwards in the Community Centre for everybody.  Evening starts with Rosary at 7.45pm.
CHURCH COLLECTION (ARCHDIOCESE OF TUAM)
Family Life Services collection will take place May 17 & 18.  The Centre is caring for families and individuals through Marital/Family/Individual Counselling, Drop-in Listening Services, Family Mediation, Bereavement Care, Free Legal Advice, Money Advice & Budgeting, CURA, Spiritual Advice, Education & Training in marriage, parenting, homemaking, personal development.  Tel. 094 25900/25901 for further information.

Prayer Group meet in the Community Centre on Thursday at 8pm.  All are welcome.
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
Election of representatives to the Parish Pastoral Council for five station areas are taking place at the moment.  We would be grateful if those areas that received voting slips could return their votes before Sunday May 18th.  
NB… Pastoral Council meeting will take place on Monday 19th at 9pm in the usual venue.
HEALING & RECONCILIATION
(The Conference … May 27 to 29 in Belmont Hotel Knock)  The Church’s urgent challenge:  Healing and Reconciliation - The need for healing and reconciliation in both Church and society in Ireland is a great need of our time.  This conference is an attempt, with the aid of expert input from the contributors, to reflect on these issues as they impact particularly on the Church in contemporary Ireland.  It will also seek to identify the many resources available to the Church in its attempt to address these issues.  Further details check Church notice Board.
MOTHERS PRAYER GROUP
This group meet on Tuesday nights in the Community Centre Granlahan from 8 to 9pm.  New members welcome.  An opportunity for Mothers and Grandmothers to come together and pray for their children and grandchildren.
CLOONFAD UTD F.C.
Sunday May 25th - Roscommon Cup Final.  Cloonfad Utd –v- Shiven Rovers.  Kick off 3pm at Curragh Grounds, Ballinasloe.  The club are urging the community to come out and support the lads next Sunday as they bid to win the cup for the first time in 10 years.  Coach and mini buses leave Cloonfad between 12.30-1.00pm.  If you wish to travel leave your name on list in Flatleys.
COMMUNITY GAMES SPORTS
The annual Kiltullagh Community games athletics events will take place in Michael Glavey’s field on Friday next commencing at 5pm.  Events from under 6 to 16 Boys and Girls. Competitors must be under the required age on July 31st.  Winners and runners up in all events progress to Roscommon finals, and county winners progress to the All Ireland finals in Mosney.  Inter schools Cross Country event will be run at the end of sports approx 7pm.  Parents of all competitors are asked to help out on the evening.
BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
A meeting of the Board of Management of Cloonfad NS will be held in the Community Centre on Wednesday night next at 9pm.  All members asked to attend.
SOCCER SOCIAL
Presentation of medals to Cloonfad Utd U.14 Premier Division Champions 2002 will take place on Saturday 24th May in Flatleys Lounge . Music by Feedom. Refreshments Provided.
COMPUTER COURSE
Enrolment will take place on Tuesday 27th May 2003 at 7.30 p.m. for the ECDL Computer Course in Dunmore Community School. This course is suitable for both men and women who have an interest in improving their computer skills and are free 3 mornings a week. No previous knowledge of computers is necessary. Course will start September 2003. Call (093) 38203

Table Quiz in Campbell’s Lounge, Ballinlough on Friday 23rd at 9.30pm.   Proceeds in aid of Special Olympics “Sponsor an Athlete”.

Cloonfad Day Care Centre raffle will be held in the Griffin Inn next Saturday night 31st May.  Lines can be purchased in local shops and on night of draw.  Please support.
MAYO/ROSCOMMON HOSPICE
Mayo/Roscommon Hospice foundation are looking for volunteers to help sell Sun Flowers in your area on National Sunflower Days 13th and 14th June.  For further information contact – Administration Office Knock 094 88666 or your local Hospice Support Group.
KILTULLAGH MENTALLY HANDICAPED ASSOCIATION
Holding their Annual 24hour Sponsored Fast on Saturday & Sunday May 31st/June1st.  Volunteers most welcome.
CERTIFICATE COURSE IN YOUTH MINISTRY
A two-year Certificate course in Youth Ministry will commence next Autumn at a central location in the diocese.  This course, developed by the Irish Redemptorists, is specifically designed for those who are already engaged in youth work/ministry in their local school, community or parish and for those who would like to get involved.  An information evening will be held in the Monastry, Chapel St, Castlebar on Monday May 26th at 8pm, and in the Parish Centre, Dublin Rd, Tuam on Wednesday June 4th at 8pm.  Further information from Fr.Tod Nolan Tel. 093 60824.
CHESS TEAM
Good luck to Cloonfad N.S. Chess Team who won the Roscommon/Leitrim league and are in Limerick this weekend participating in the All Ireland Primary Schools chess finals.  The team and supporters are accompanied by Mr. Francis Glynn N.T. (Team Coach).
