PRAYER MEETING
There won’t be any Prayer Meeting on Holy Thursday night.  Prayer Group praying in the Church after reposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Holy Thursday night.  Prayer Group resume as usual on April 15th at 8pm.
ALZHEIMER FOUNDATION
The West of Ireland Alzheimer Foundation ‘Capital Tea Day’ due to be held in the Community Centre this weekend has been postponed as a mark of respect to Paddy Burke (R.I.P.)  This event will be held at a later date.
BALLINTUBBER ABBEY ‘A MOVING EXPERIENCE’
Enter into the drama of Holy Week by experiencing the Passion Play in Ballintubber Abbey Grounds on Mon 5th, Tue 6th, Wed 7th April at 9pm.  The drama lasts for one hour.  This is the 16th year of production and it is a worthwhile way to commence Holy Week.
SCHOOL PLAYING FIELD
Because of work being done on the field at the moment, the field is closed to all users until after Easter.
SCHOOL FOOTBALL TRAINING
Training for Cloonfad N.S. football teams takes place Monday at the school at 6pm.
NURSERY THYMES PLAYSCHOOL
The Committee and staff of Nursery Thymes would like to thank everybody for their support in their recent fund-raising raffle.  Winners were Tom Tighe, Marcella Keane, Una Kirrane.  A total of €1600 was raised.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Teresa Fleming, Cloonfad and Pauric Quinn, Clonguish, Longford who get married in St.Patricks Church Cloonfad on Easter Sunday.  We wish them a lifetime of health and happiness.
CLOONFAD/MOZAMBA PROJECT – (Calling all Walkers)
There will be a 10km sponsored walk in aid of the Cloonfad/Mozamba project on Sunday April 25th at 6pm in the Cloonarkin/Derrylahan area.  Sponsorship cards available from Board Members – Sean Brennan and Terry Fitzmaurice.  Information on Mozamba Project is available on website www.partnershipsireland-ireland-africia.com
CHILDREN’S TREASURE HUNT
A Children’s Treasure Hunt followed by Disco will be held in Michael Glaveys Community Centre on Saturday 17th April from 3 to 5pm.  Children are advised to get their teams of 2 ready for the event.  It is promised to be good fun and there is an entry fee for the Treasure Hunt, which includes admittance to the Disco where prizes will be presented.  Prizes will be Smyth Toy Shop Vouchers.  It is planned to have events for younger children on the day also.  Further Information contact A.Hussey Tel 094 96 30011.
COOKING DEMONSTRATION
‘Chefs of Mayo’ in Claremorris Town Hall on Friday 23rd April at 8.45pm.  Proceeds in aid of Claremorris & Ballyhaunis Chernobyl Children’s Projects, Temple Street Children’s Hospital.  Draw on the night for St.Vincent De Paul.  Admission includes fully illustrated ‘Chefs of Mayo’ Cookery Booklet.  Please support.
BALLYHAUNIS A.B.C. (AID FOR BELARUSSIAN CHILDREN)
Ballyhaunis ABC is again hosting children from Belarus this summer.  We are currently looking for host families to host two Belarussian Children for two weeks in July.  A meeting of Ballyhaunis ABC will be held on Tuesday 13th April at 9pm in the Oak Bar, Ballyhaunis.  Anyone interested should attend or contact Mary Murphy Tel. 094 963089 or Olive Lyons on 094 9630696.

The 'Nineties' go out and celebrate

At a reception to celebrate the occasion of members of the community who have reached  the ripe age of ninety and plus, Fr. Tom presented a rosary beads to each person.  With a promise of better things to come Fr. Tom said Christmas time will witness an even better celebration for those involved. Seated from L-R; Annie Hussey,Delia Mullarkey, Nell Prendergast, Molly Fleming, John Quinn (special guest and not yet the number), Vincent Prendergast.  Unable to attend were John Staunton, John Waldron, Tom Fleming, Martin Owens, Bridget Maher and Nora McDonell.  Standing are the committee members, Kathleen Costello, Fr. Tom, Ann Burke, Teresa Birmingham, Tina Morley and Sr. Bernadine.

CEMETERY COMMITTEE MEETING
A Cemetery Committee meeting will be held in Cloonfad Community Centre on Monday April 19th.at 9.45pm to discuss the upkeep of the Cemetery for 2004. All members are asked to attend and also new members are very welcome.
CLOONFAD UTD F.C.
Sunday Apr 18 – Connacht Cup Quarter Final.  Manulla F.C. –v- Cllonfad Utd in Manulla.  Kick Off 2.00pm.  Well done to this team on reaching another Roscommon Cup Final.  They play Castlerea Celtic in the final next month.
ALZHEIMER FOUNDATION

CLOONARKIN ENVIRONMENTAL WALK

The sponsored Walk will take place on Sunday April 25th at 6pm.  The walk will commence from the head of Cloonarkin Road.  Walkers are asked to meet in Cloonfad Car Park at 5.45pm.  Transport will be provided from the Car Park as required.  Walkers are asked to hand their cards and sponsorship to the committee treasurers Nora Costello/Tina Godfrey or any member of the Parish Council as soon as possible. Anyone interested in sponsoring the walkers contact N.Costello/T.Godfrey or any member of Parish Council. Sunday Apr 25Premier Div.  Monksland Utd –v- Cllonfad Utd.  Kick Off 2.30pm in Athlone.  Div 1 Cup – Ahascragh Utd –v- Cloonfad Utd ‘B’.  Kick off 11.30am in Ahascragh. 
Sunday May 2Roscommon Cup Final.  Cloonfad Utd –v- Castlerea Celtic.  Kick off 3pm in Ballinlough.  The Club are looking forward to a big turnout from the community to support the team. 
ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE
A meeting of the above committee will be held on Monday night at 9pm in Community Centre.  New Members welcome.
CLOONFAD PARISH MAGAZINE
A meeting of the magazine committee will take place on Tuesday night at 9pm in Community Centre.  All members are asked to attend.
