BOXING
Well done to Kevin Cummins (70kgs) and P.J.Keane (86kgs) who won the 4 nations boxing championships in Ballybunion last weekend.
CHILDREN’S TREASURE HUNT
A Children’s Treasure Hunt followed by Disco will be held in Michael Glaveys Community Centre on Saturday 12th June from 3 to 5pm.  Children are advised to get their teams of 2 ready.  It is promised to be good fun and there is an entry fee for the Treasure Hunt, which includes admittance to the Disco where prizes will be presented.  Prizes will be Smyth Toy Shop Vouchers.  It is planned to have events for younger children.  Further Information contact A.Hussey Tel 094 96 30011.
EXAMS
Best of luck to all the students from the community that are sitting the Junior & Leaving Cert. exams in the near future.  May God and our Blessed Lady help you all at this difficult time in your young lives.
MICHAEL GLAVEY’S
Congratulations to Michael Glaveys under 12 Girls team who defeated Clan na nGael to win the County Diision-I title during the week.  This was a marvellous achievement for our young girls and is our second title at this level having previously won it in 1996.  The Cloonfad players on the team were Paula Jennings, Lorraine Brennan, Joanne Cregg, Ciara McDonnell and Kelly McKay and the coaches were Brendan Cregg, Pamela Keadin and Joanne Ronane.
COMMUNITY GAMES
Best of luck to all our young athletes from Kiltullagh who participate in County Finals in Kiltoom this weekend.  Thanks to all the parents who supported the parish athletic sports day held in our new school playing field last week.
DOWN SYNDROME IRELAND
The Ice Cream party held on 16th May raised €228 for Down Syndrome Ireland.  Thanks to all who attended.
CLOONFAD MAGAZINE 2004
The above committee will meet on Wednesday 9th June at 9.30pm in the Community Centre.  All members are asked to attend.
CLOONFAD CEMETERY MAINTENANCE
We would like to thank the people from Mountdelvin and Ballinross station areas who took care of the grass cutting for the month of May.  We would ask the people from the Cloonfad Station area to take care of the grass cutting for the month of June.
Please meet on Monday June 7th at 7.30pm to commence this work.

24 HOUR OF PRAYER
Following up on Mary Trench (Robeen) talk at both masses last weekend on the topic “A Movement of Continuous Prayer for Marriage & Family Life”.  There has been a very good response from the community.  Already 36 names have signed up.  Cloonfad area has agreed to say prayers for this movement on the 13th day of each month, starting this Sunday morning at 12am.  If you would like to help others with your prayers please give your name to Ann Hosty, Anne Keadin, or T.Commins.  Remember its only 1-hour out of 720-744 hours in the week – you can say the prayers in your own home.
COMMUNITY GAMES
Well done to all our athletes who represented Kiltullagh so well in last weekends county community games finals in Kiltoom, and to all the parents and family members who supported them.  Special congrats to the three Kiltullagh medal winners, Joanne Cregg, Helena Cummins, and Eugene Stritch.
CLOONFAD N.S. ACTIVITIES
Tuesday 1pm: Annual Della Lynch Memorial inter schools basketball blitz in the community centre. Wednesday 1pm:  Sixth class graduation and presentation ceremony.  Thursday:  Junior and Senior School Tours.

FATHERS DAY
Sunday 20th June is Fathers Day – we wish all Fathers a Happy Feast Day.
CLEAN UP
The senior pupils of Cloonfad N.S. will do a badly needed clean up of the car park area this week commencing on Monday at 2pm.  Any parents or village residents who wish to help out are most welcome.
BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICE
The opportunity to give blood will arise at Scoil Iosa Primary School, Abbeyquarter, Ballyhaunis on Thursday 24th June from 4.30pm to 9.00pm.  New blood is always needed!

ENABLE IRELAND
