CONGRATULATIONS



Congratulations and best wishes to Elaine Stritch, Meeltrane and Pa Bowens, Pollinalty who got married in St. Patricks Church, CLoonfad on  Saturday October 2nd .  We wish them a lifetime of health and happiness.

WEEKLY OFERING

CLOONFAD MAGAZINE 2004
Committee meeting Wed 6 October at 9pm.  All members please attend.
The cut-off date for receipt of articles, photographs, organisation updates, sponsorship and entries for the ‘Cover Photograph’ competition will be Sunday 3rd October. Photograph for competition must be of a local scene and must not contain people. Please hand in any of the above to O’Malleys or to any member of the committee.
BADMINTON
Badminton on Tuesday nights at 9.30pm in the Community Centre.  Suitable for all ages, all are welcome.
GOOD LUCK
We wish the Galway ladies the best of luck on Sunday in the All Ireland Ladies Senior Final against Dublin.

CONFIRMATION
The sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated in the Parish on Tuesday March 8th 2004 in Ballinlough Church.
DEVELOPMENT DRAW
The launch of the Cloonfad United Development Draw will take place in Jennings Lounge Cloonfad on Saturday 23rd October at 10pm.  All are welcome.  Plans for new development will be unveiled.
DAY OF PRAYER FOR FAMILY LIFE
Knock Shrine – Saturday 23rd October 12noon to 5pm.  Special Speaker Fr. Johnny Doherty CSsR.  Sessions on family prayer, involving young people, different forms of prayer, action and prayer.  Further details Tel. 01 4067241
YOUTH MASS
This Wednesday there will be a singing practice for the Youth Mass.  All are invited to be part of this celebration.  Contact Paddy Costello or Vivian Prendergast if interested.  The Mass will be on Saturday November 6th.

Station Mass for Tonragee, Carramore & Ballyglass will be held in the home of John Francis, Mary Costello and family on Friday 29th Oct at 8pm.
WELCOME
We welcome Jack Fleming and Philip James Costelloe baptized in St. Patricks Church, Cloonfad into the Christian community.
WANTED
During the coming few weeks your representative on the Pastoral Council will be calling to see if you would like to help in Church activities i.e. Readers, Eucharist Ministers, Collectors, Church Care Group.  A new list of the above is being drawn up, so if you would like to help in any way in your church you would be most welcome to become part of the team.  It should be a privilege not a burden to help out in the parish.
FUND RAISING FUNCTION
A fund raising function for an injured person in the community will be held in Jennings Lounge at 9.30m on Saturday night October 30th.  Music by Jiving Gerry.  Please support.
CLOONFAD F.C.
Sunday October 24th - FAI Junior Cup in Cloonfad.  Cloonfad Utd –v- Cam Celtic.  Kick Off 2pm.

Scheduled for November 6th.  It is the regular Saturday evening Mass.  There will be a practice for the singing on Wed at 9pm.  All are invited to be part of the celebration. Contact Paddy Costello or Vivian Prendergast if interested. SPIRITUALITY
“Is that which succeeds in bringing us to inner transformation”.  It is about responding with the whole of ourselves to all of life.  Fr.John Finn MSC will give a series of reflections on Christian Spirituality – opening our hearts to Emanuel ---- Wednesday November 17th and 24th & December 1st – 8pm to 9.30pm.

Badminton has been changed and will now take place on Monday nights at 9.00pm in the Community Centre.  Suitable for all ages, all are welcome.

PRAYER MEETING

INDULGENCES
From 12noon on 1st November until midnight on 2nd November all who have confessed, received Holy Communion and prayed for the Pope’s Intentions (One Our Father, Hail Mary and any other prayer of your choice) can gain a Plenary Indulgence by visiting a Church or Oratory, and reciting one Our Father and the Apostles Creed.  (2) The Faithful who visit a cemetery and pray for the dead may gain a plenary indulgence applicable only to the Holy Souls of the usual conditions once per day from 1st to 8th November.
HOLY HOUR
Holy Hour on Friday night with Hymns and Reflections 7.30pm to 8.30pm
ALZHEIMER FOUNDATION
A Conference on Dementia called “Share the Care” will be held in Breaffy House Hotel, Castlebar on Friday 12th November from 9.45am to 4.00pm.  If you are caring for someone with Alzheimers Disease or Dementia it will be of great benefit to you.  If you wish to attend contact Anne at 094 9364900.  See Poster at back of Church for details.
