PRAYER MEETING
Prayer Group meet in the Community Centre on Thursday  at 8pm.  All are welcome.

The centre will re-open on Wednesday September 8th at 12noon.  All are welcome.
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations and best wishes to Florence Ronane, Ballykilleen, Cloonfad and Stephen Duffy, Strabane, Co. Tyrone who got married in St. Colmcilles Church, Rathcormack, Co. Sligo on Friday 3rd September.  We wish them a lifetime of health and happiness.

VILLAGES RE-UNION
The Villages Re-Union headcount for the Saturday night function in the White House Hotel, Ballinlough is now complete and a small number of tickets are still available and can be obtained by contacting Matt Raftery on 094 96 46179.  Villages involved are Pollinarrow, Derrylahan, Clogher, Rathlena, Coolcam.
CLOONFAD MAGAZINE 2004
Committee meeting will take place on Wednesday 8th September at 9pm in Community Centre.  All members are asked to attend.  The magazine committee would like to remind readers that the focus area for Cloonfad 2004 is Clogher, Clooncam, Rathlena,  Derrylahan & Pollinarrow.  The committee is looking for Articles and photographs for the above areas or indeed any area of interest.  Photographs for weddings and 21st’s are also needed, please hand to any member of the committee or to O’Malleys, Cloonfad.
WILLIAMSTOWN HERITAGE DAY
Williamstown Heritage Day takes place this Sunday September 5th.
CLOONFAD/MOZAMBA FLOUR MILL
Just a short part of an e-mail received during the week from Fr.Eamon Ayleward, Co-Ordinator of the Cloonfad/Mozamba Flour Mill Project.  
“Dear All, just thought you would like to see 2 photos I took of the new house which will contain the flour mill in Mozamba.  I took the photos on Tuesday last.  (Photos can be seen by contacting Pat McCormack, Gurteen).  The Mill and the motor are in Beira and will be transported to Inhaminga in the coming week.  Our carpenters are presently making the wooden doors while one of the builders is in Mozamba this week fitting the metal security doors.  Thanks especially to the people of Cloonfad for their generosity.  Peade.  Eamonn”

REHAB COLLECTION
Last weeks collection raised €310.  Thanks to all who donated to this collection.
VILLAGES RE-UNION
The Villages Re-Union Mass on Saturday September 18th at 5.45pm in Granlahan Church.   If anybody has old Photo’s, a notice board will be available to display these at the White House Function on Sat. 18th.  A welcoming function will be held in the Hillside Tavern, Granlahan on Friday 17th.  Music – Gerry Geraghty with special guest appearance Kevin Prendergast.  All local artists welcome.  A small number of tickets available for general sale for White House Function.  Contact Matt Raftery on 094 96 46179.

COMMUNITY CENTRE
Bookings for the use of the Community Centre are now been taken for the Winter season.  Because of the escalating cost of insurance, the fee for the use of the hall has been increased to €2 per person.
LADIES GAA – COUNTY FINAL
Congratulations to Michael Glaveys ladies team who have qualified for the County Intermediate Final against St. Brigids.  This is a great achievement by the team and they are asking for big support from the Parish for the County Final being played on Sunday September 19th.  Time and venue to be decided.
SPORTS DAY
The delayed Cloonfad Sports Day will now be held on Sunday September 12th at 2.30pm. Entry fee per family. There will be a Barbeque, Bouncy Castle and lots of Sideshows and fun for all the family.
ECDL COMPUTER COURSE
Commencing in Dunmore Community School on Tuesday 14th September. This course is suitable for both men and women who have an interest in improving their computer skills and are free 3 mornings a week. No previous knowledge of computers is necessary. Only a limited number of places still available. Call (093) 38203 for further details.
CLOONFAD ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE
The prizewinner in the draw for the Calf was Paul Fitzgerald, Irishtown.  A poster will be displayed in the local shops showing all other prizewinners.  Thanks to all who supported the draw.
24HOUR CONTINUOUS  PRAYER
Monday is the 13th day of September, so it is the turn of Cloonfad Community to pray the 24hours of continuous prayer for Marriage and Family Life.  We would be grateful if those that signed up to pray one hour per month would pray your allotted time on this Monday.  Times from 12am Monday morning until 12pm Monday night September 13th.  Thank you for your support.

Connaught P.T.A.A. mini-vigil in the Apparition Church Knock on Friday Sep 24th 8.30pm to midnight.  Programme includes Stations of the Cross, Rosary, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Prayer and Reflection and 11pm Mass.

MICHAEL GLAVEYS LADIES
Best wishes to Michael Glaveys ladies team who play St. Brigids in the Roscommon Intermediate Championship final on Sunday in Oran at 2pm.  All the parish should support this panel of players who have been training since last March for this big day.

Commemorating Pope John Paul 11’s visit to Ireland.  Pattern & Jubilee Mass at 3.00pm in Clonmacnois on Sunday 19th September 2004.

Photograph for competition must be of a local scene and must not contain people. The winners of the Art Competition are as follows:  Category Age 4 to 8 …1st Martina Regan, 2nd Michael McGuire, 3rd James McDonagh.  Category Age 9 to 13 … 1st Paula Jennings, 2nd Ciara McDonnell, 3rd Michael McDonnell.  Presentation of Art Competition prizes will be Wed 29 September at 8.30pm in the community centre.  A parent is asked to attend with each child.

KING SCHOOL OF DANCING
Dancing Teacher Ann Byrne will hold a meeting with the parents of the children dancing in Cloonfad in Keanes Lounge on Mon Sep 27th at 8pm.  All parents are asked to attend.
FAMILY LIFE SERVICES
Information on the services, supports and educational programmes available through the Family Centre, Castlebar during Autumn/Winter are to be found on  Church notice board.
KNOCK COMMEMORATIVE MASS IN BASILICA
Special commemorative Mass (25th Anniversary of the visit of the Holy Father) on Saturday 2nd October at 7.30m, celebrated by Archbishop Michael Neary of Tuam.  The Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland will preside and will unveil a special commemorative plaque.  Many of the items of the Holy Father’s visit in 1979 will be used Vestments, Chair, Kneeler, Candle, Golden Rose.  During the three days of the Anniversary 29, 30 Sep and 1st Oct, a special candle will be lighting in the Apparition Chapel for the Holy Father’s intentions.
