St John's Cemetery
The cemetery located on the ruins of the Hospital priory of the Fratres Cruciferi of Saint John the Baptist. The Kells priory, of which there are no standing remains, was founded by Walter De Lacy, son of Hugh de Lacy, in 1199. Of particular interest in the graveyard is a medieval grave slab depicting an abbess wearing a linen wimple and holding a tau stick in her right hand.
