Band News

Firsly, Hi to all those first time visiters to the site, don't forget to sign the guestbook. A big thank you to all those who turned out for our first gig in The Phoenix. We were delighted with the big crowd and we hope you all enjoyed the night. It was a brilliant experience for us and we hope to see you soon over the summer months. Keep an eye on the site for information on our next gig. Meanwhile if you have any comments on the gig or on the site in general you are more than welcome to sign the guestbook and make sure you check out the Listen section to download our new song 'Lyric of Soul'. Over the next few weeks the site might not be updated much due to the Leaving Cert exams I am doing in June. Best of luck to everyone whose doing exams also. I know how you feel. After the exams the site will be expanded with lots more sections, songs, photos, links to everywhere on the web and lots more. Any ideas over the next few weeks will make my job easier so e-mail or sign the guestbook. Thanks again to all those at the gig and see you all soon.

Some other news on the band:

Over the past number of months the band has been gaining some valuable experience playing alongside some of the best musicians in Cork at "Pa Johnsons" pub (behind Murphy's Brewery, Blackpool). Every last Tuesday of every month a blues night is held in the pub, hosted by the Dizzie Blues band, where some of the best musicians in the city come together and play. It also serves as a platform for new bands like ourselves starting off to come and play a few numbers. Over the last 4 months we have been lucky enough to have gotten the opportunity to play and gain some valuable experience. Every month we get the opportunity to play numbers such as Jimmy Hendrix: Red House, The Stone Roses: Made of Stone and Rory Gallagher: Morning Sun, Shadow Play and Blister on the Moon. The experience of playing over the last few months in this venue has encouraged us greatly and we would like to thank all involved for giving us this opportunity.

ŠThe Elements 2000

Update 8 August 2000: A big shout out to all the gang in the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland who will be visiting the site over the next few weeks. I was lucky enough to spend a few weeks on tour in Europe with the Orchestra and we all had a brilliant time. To all the new friends I made; can't wait to see ye all soon. Hopefully maybe some of ye can come to Cork to see the band play over the next few weeks.

I'm the only band member in the country at the moment, the rest of the lads are off in Greece enjoying the sun. We are lining up a gig for early September so keep and eye on the site for news on that. Before we left for our holidays the band began doing some work on exciting new material which would hope to have in our next gig. That's all the news for now, I'll update next week again. Bye for now.
