Change the verbs in this passage to the future tense and make
any other changes you deem necessary. Begin "Dé Sathairn
seo chugainn (next Saturday) ..." |
| |
Dé Sathairn seo caite d'fhan mé sa leaba go dtí
a deich a chlog. Bhí mé i mo chodladh go sámh ach
dhúisigh mé agus d'éirigh mé nuair a bhuail
an clog aláraim. Isteach liom sa seomra folctha agus nigh
mé mé féin. Chuir mé mo chuid éadaí
orm, geansaí, péire jíons, agus bróga reatha.
Chuaigh mé go dtí an chistin ansin agus rug mé
ar bhosca Weetabix. Dhoirt mé steall bainne ar an mbrioscóg,
chraith mé dhá spúnóg siúcra uirthi agus
d'ith mé go tapaidh í.
Chuala mé mo Dheaid ag teacht ar ais ón siopa sa charr.
Tháinig sé isteach agus d'iarr sé orm lámh
chúnta a thabhairt dó. Thug mé na málaí
grósaerachtaí isteach ón gcarr dó agus chabhraigh
mé leis iad a chur i dtaisce.

This lesson is based on the future tense of the verb -- An
Aimsir Fháistineach. Once again for conversation you
need to be able to pose and answer questions.
- Write a conversation in the future based on the attractions
- or dangers - of the fair or of some other similar event. Five
questions and five answers should be enough.
- Alternatively, or in addition, write an account of an event
you are planning in the future. Scéal
Sheáin probably has helpful vocabulary.
- Learn by heart the songs presented in these lessons and learn
to sing them. Many people think they know "Beidh Aonach
Amárach" but probably gloss over "ná
héiligh é" and "muna bhfaighe
mé é" without appreciating the vocabulary
and grammar of these phrases. A search of the internet should
turn up recordings of them.
