Digital School Awards
The Digital Schools Award is a new initiative that aims to recognise
excellence in a school's approach to the integration of ICT in learning
and teaching. The Digital Schools Award was launched by Minister
Mary Hanafin, T.D., at Scoil an Chroí Ró Naofa, Killinarden,
Tallaght on Friday, 10th February 2006. This award aims to build
on the excellent progress made by schools in relation to ICT.
To achieve a Digital Schools Award, each participating school must
fulfill Identified criteria which will be applied as part of the validation
process. There are thirty-nine criteria
in all, fourteen of which are essential. The criteria are organised under
the following headings:
• Leadership & Vision
• ICT in the Curriculum
• School ICT Culture
• Professional Development
• Resources & Infrastructure
