Terra Madre, Turin, Italy 2006
Terra Madre is part of the Slow Food movement!
Slow Food - www.slowfood.com - an international non-profit organization, was founded in 1989 to counteract fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world. Today, Slow Food has over 80,000 members, in food communities, in 107 countries all around the world.
What kind of food is Slow? - it should taste good, it should be produced in a clean way that does not harm the envoronment, anomal welfare or human health and its producers should recieve a fair renumeration for their work.
Good + Clean + Fair = Slow Food.
Terra Madre brings together food communities that work for the sustainability of their food products and for quality which accounts for exceptional taste and respects the environment and people.
