• Right-click on the image and choose "set as wallpaper" from the menu which appears

• Drag image onto desktop, open it in a painting programme and save it as a .pict file
• Place this .pict file into your Appearance/Desktop Pattern control panel
• Alternatively, click on the image and choose "copy image"; open up your Desktop Pattern control panel and paste the image into it
