NOTES: Patrick was listed in the 1851 census as an Engine Keeper.
In the 1861 census as a coal salesman.
In the 1871 census he was a farm labourer.
In the 1881 census he was a "Pit Labourer".
But at his death in 1890 he was a Dairyman and living at 66 Meadowside Street, Airdrie.

It is Patrick that changed the name Steel, to Steele. It changes after the birth of his youngest son Joseph in 1874, but before his death in 1890.
