Festive Shoot & Dinner 15 December 2007 Black Dog Archers Cork

Saturday 24 Brave archers braced themselves against the cold easterly December wind and stepped out in Cork.
The shooting distances were small and the targets smaller so scores ranged from a high of 778 to a low of -730 both a result of fine shooting. The minus score displaying a complete disregard for Santa's and Rudolf's safety.

Sunday Informal Clout practise shoot.
8 lost souls arriving for an informal Clout Shoot in a local farm. No scores recorded !!!.
Shooting into the wind with recurves and long bows only, the 180 yds eluded some while other came as close as inches to the flag.
This was a practise shoot to explore safely the kind of practical issues that arise when shooting long ranges. Our field exceeds 700yds x 450 yds and has only one gate at opposing corners visible at all times from the shooting lane.

A big thank you to everyone who came to shoot eat and be merry. All at Black Dog Archers wish everyone in IFAF a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.
