Loughcrew Archers 36-T SBG

Oh, what a dull day! The rest of the country, it seems, basked in spring sunshine while the shoot site lay under a blanket of cold mist/fog all day.
In spite of this, the competitors managed to keep their spirits up and some good scores were made, including a fair number of new records. There was a deal of "clumping" in the first round and competitors grumbled that they spent too much time waiting their turn. My fault! Somebody needs to come up with some magic formula that ensures all groups progress at exactly the same rate. Any takers?
Incidentally, you have squelched through Soggy Bottom for the last time. It's now been banished to No-man's land

Loughcrew put on a very enjoyable (and cold) shoot last Sunday and even managed to organise an atmospheric frost and a dense fog for the day. It was a new experience shooting in such conditions. Soggy bottom was not as harsh as expected but the wellies were useful along with the three pairs of socks.
The targets were well placed; some proved a challenge but all in all they were quite manageable.
So all in all an excellent day out enjoyed by seven Dunbrody archers at least…
Well done to all at Loughcrew

Andrew Wayland, Dunbrody
