As with most decent Home Cinema Set-up’s, providing that you have your system wired up correctly. And are playing back a DVD with Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1 soundtrack. I have too often heard people say that there is very little sound coming from the rear speakers. What you must remember here is that the rear channels are just effect channels. And in being so the effects will come at the time that the movie director meant them to. I saying that what you don’t realise is the Ambiance the rear speakers are creating, not just the sounds of a passing airplane or a bullet ricocheted, but the background music of the movies soundtrack.
Speaker wiring.
Make sure that your speakers are wired correctly.
Front left & right: Usually speaker comes with a stripe on one wire. So
say you are wiring the front right speaker. Make sure that on the back of the
amp that the wire with the stripe goes to the “+ or Red” on the
right front connection and to the “+ or Red” on the front right
speaker. And the wire without the stripe goes to the “- or Black”.
Keep this in mind with all the other speakers and you will be fine.
DVD Connection
Connect your DVD to the amp, by connecting the Phono out on the DVD to the DVD
Phono in on the Amp. Again making sure that the right & left out goes to
the right & left in. (if you have not got phono out on the DVD use a Scart
to Phono connection) You must also connect the Digital out to the Digital in
on the amp, to get the 5.1 sound track from the DVD. (either Coaxal or Optical).
