If you are just going to put your video
on to video tape |
|
If you are just going to put your video on to video tape there is still
a good reason to use your PC. not to capture all the
video just enough to add special effects, titles and credits.
For example
You could grab some of the video footage and
run a title over it. Grab another bit of footage and add a few special
effects
like wipes, fades and maby a bit of slow-motion. Then grab another bit
for to run a few end credits over.
Then once you have your Title,
Effects and End Credits edited and rendered on your PC.
Connect your PC via the TV out on the graphics card or the capture card
to your video.
If you connect to the TV out of your graphics card
you can play the video on windows media player or your DVD player.
"Remember that if you have TV out on your graphics card you
can also do titles and credits with Power Point and some
photo editing software".
If you connect to the TV out of your
capture card you probably must playback with the video editing software
that came with
the card.
So with your edited video title ready to play have
your VCR ready to record and press play on you'r PC. Then press pause
on
you'r VCR when the title is finished.
Now connect the Camera to the VCR and record up until were you want to
put in the special effects, and End Credits.
(By doing it this way you will save on hard drive
space and time. And still end up with good results.)
Then how about making a Video CD. |
|
You can put about
50 minutes of VCD on a CDR disk.
|
For example putting your wedding video on CD and watching it on your
PC or DVD player. (Most DVD players will play VCD
but not all.) Video CD's have about the same quality as VHS video tape.
If you want to make Video CD's
If you want to make Video CD's you will have to capture all to video to
the PC. Meaning that you will have to have a large
hard drive, (or else do it in stages which takes a long time ) and software
such as Videowave 4 or Uleed VideoStudio 5 to convert
the video to VCD format. And of course a CD Rewriter and CDRW software
to burn the finished VCD to CDR disk.
For VCD
Capture the video using the highest quality capture that your card and
PC will let you. Edited out in Videowave 4 or Uleed
VideoStudio 5. And when you have your editing done render it to VCD format.
It's better to do this in 10 or 15 minute
Stages. Doing it in stages has two advantages.
1. If you make a mistake or your PC crashes you do not have much to make
up for.
2. You can jump from scene to scene on your DVD player.
Putting your finished VCD on Disk
Burning your VCD to CDR Disk
Burning your VCD to CDR Disk you will need ether Nero burning ROM 5 or
Easy CD Creator 4 which both have VCD features.
Easy CD Creator also gives you the option of using navigating menus on
your VCD, which is a little more complated.
This process is very well explained at VCD
