Walks around Sligo/ Mayo

Walks in the Ox Mountains   http://www.gsi.ie/everyone/ev-frame.htm

There is a good selection of trail and way-marked walks on the walkireland website

http://www.walkireland.ie/homepage.aspx

http://www.walkireland.ie/trail-search-interactive.aspx lets you click on the map to bring up the area of interest or you can search the site with it’s own search facility which is a little fiddly to use – try this to display the maximum number of walks…

The Sligo Way passes through the scenic Ox Mountains around Lough Easkey and is recommended.

It is possible and rewarding to walk and explore the coastline around Easkey up to and including Aughris Head which has impressive eroded cliffs.

Queen Maeves grave at KnocknaRae near Strandhill is a rewarding 40 minute climb to the top for a great view over the bay.
