Right: A sequence of pencil sketches of the eclipse from my garden. Some by eye (with filter) , some by PST (H-Alpha telescope), all rotated to give the same view. Difficult conditions, part cloud. 40mm H-Alpha Solar Telescope (PST 40) with a 8mm eyepiece (TVP). The times are given in Irish Summer Time (UT + 1 hr).
Both by Deirdre Kelleghan.
Observed from Jalon, Spain by John O'Neill. Some cloud present at dawn which obscured the First Contact, but the sun cleared nicely soon after and remained so for the rest of the Eclipse. 500mm focal-length Mirror "Lens" with Fujichrome 100. Kendrick Baader Solar Filter used. Left: Images combined into a montage. Centre: Perfect Symmetry at mid Eclipse.
Right: Montage of images through a digital camera by Patricia Carroll also at Jalon.
From Durness, north-west Scotland. Taken by John Flannery with a 28mm focal-length camera lens.
Left: From Dublin. Brian Noonan's daughter Aoife took this shot with a disposable camera held to the eyepiece of a 818mm focal-length 102mm refractor (Takahashi FS102), with a solar filter.
Right: A superb atmospheric photo taken through partial cloud cover from Dublin. 450mm focal-length lens at 1/2000th second on Fujicolor 200. Because of cloud no filter used. Taken by Barry Pickup.
