New Inn Mummers Festival

              Kilnadeema branch were once once again well represented at the 25th Annual Galway Mummers Festival which was held in the community centre in New Inn on Saturday and Sunday 4th/5th January. We had fifty five members participating in three groups in the junior competition which was held on Sunday afternoon. Once again all had a great time. The youngest member taking part was five year old Thomas Forde who gave it holly!!! The oldest group, the Kilnadeema Mummers finished second in the group competition to our great rivals and friends from Rahan. Group winners were: Straw Boys-Brian Harris, Wren Boys-Gerard Forde, Mummers-Denise Costello. The winner of the best overall junior musician went to Martin James Howley. The best young entertainer of the festival went to Denise Costello. Denise scooped the top prize of a scooter valued at 3000 euro
