While the battle of the ford continued some of Maeve's warriors stole the Brown bull of Cooley and took him to Connacht. In a fight the Brown bull killed Aillil's white bull and then raced all the way home When he arrived in Cooley he fell dead on the ground in front of Daire's house. Clare |

One day Maeve and her husband, Ailill compared their wealth.
They found that each of them had the same riches, except for one thing.
Ailill had a fine white bull and Maeve had no no animal to equal it. This

Ailill and Queen Maeve are comparing their possessions and they are even except for one thing. Ailill has a white bull but Maeve has no animal to compare to Ailill's white bull. Queen Maeve gets very angry and wants to get an animal to compare with Ailill's white bull.
