CourseBuilder Drag & Drop Interaction.
Updated 28/03/2003 for Netscape 6 & 7

Drag the graphic on the left onto the graphic on the right.

The CourseBuilder version of the drag/drop interaction caters for all of the following:

  1. The layer name is passed, thereby allowing multiple drag and drop layers
  2. The offset of the mouse cursor within the layer when the button is pressed is taken into account
  3. The margin for error is specified, so the drag layer doesn't need to be positioned exactly to get it correct
  4. The required exception coding and error checking is included.

Other attributes that can be set via the dialog box include whether or not to return the layer to the original position if the user does not get the interaction correct (i.e. the returnLayerIfIncorrect variable is not hard-coded, but is changeable by the developer by simply clicking on a checkbox within the wizard).

Using CourseBuilder, the normal length of time required to create this page would be less than 1 min.

Since I had to upgrade CourseBuilder myself to cope with Netscape 6 & 7, it took a little longer, but it needn't for you! The updated patch is available as shareware from Macromedia's website
