First World War veterans 1921 were tenants
of gym until club got premises in 1964. Third from left middle row is
Paddy Duffy who, along with wife Aggie, owned the small house next door,
which the club obtained in 1987. Also in photo middle row second from
right, is Peter Whelan, whose family have been involved in boxing in
Loughrea since the start. Other boxing names in photo include Daniels,
Shaughnessy and Barrett.
