Club Notes 2005/06

 

7th May 2006

Moore's A team ended there season with the divisional cup semi-final loss against Glen Celtic at falty. The score was 1-1 at half time with Paul Kelly getting a penalty for Moore. Moore had it harder in the 2nd half and with being reduced to 10 men didn't help

 

1st May 2006

It was a bad weekend for both senior teams with both loosing on penalties in different cup competitions. Moore's A team drew 0-0 with Glen Celtic AET in the Roscommon Cup. Glen won the shoot out 4-2. The B team played heatmerchants in the Division 1 cup and the game finished 1-1 aet. Moore lost the shoot out 5-4.

 

23rd April 2006

On friday evening last Moore's A team play local rivals Skyvalley in their first round divisional cup game. The game ended 1-1 at normal time and at the end of extra time. Conor Duignan getting the goal for Moore. The penalty shoot out finished 3-2 to Moore. The B team lost their battle against relegation with a 2-1 loss aay to heatmerchants. James Kelly getting Moore's only goal.

 

17th April 2006

On friday evening last Moore's A team had to replay their cup game away to Rahara.Moore came away with a great 4-1 victory. Paul Kelly, Conor Duignan and John and Declan Duffy getting the goals for Moore. They then had to play Shiven's B team in the next round on monday. Another good 4-0 victory. Paul Kelly 2,Joe Connell and Conor Duignan getting the goals. Moore now play Glen Celtic in the semi finals.

 

2nd April 2006

The B Team were knocked out of the Roscommon cup , going down 3-1 to Shiven's B team. Dermot Naughton scoring the goal for Moore. The A Team's cup game was abandoned after 70 minutes and both teams will have to wait for the referees report to go through to see what happens next.

 

26th March 2006

Moore had a good 3-0 victory away to Shiven.Paul Kelly, Shane Colleran and Joe Connell getting the goals for Moore. Moore B team look destined for Division 2 football next season when they went down 5-2 away to Ballymoe. They need to win there last 2 games to have any hope of staying in this division next season.

 

19th March 2006

Moore A team played Cloonfad Utd in a league game. Moore lost 1-0.

Moores B team had a great 3-2 victory over Castlerea's B team in Castlerea in their next round of the Roscommon Cup.

 

12th March 2006

Moore A team played Laurancetown in the Roscommon Cup in Falty. Moore came away with a 3-0 win. The goals coming from Declan Duffy, Sheane Colleran and John Greene. Moore meet Rahara Rovers away in the next round. Moore's B team game was called off.

The U18's had a 2-1 win over Kilkerrin Utd in the quarter final of the Roscommon Cup. Conor Duignan and Kevin Kenny getting the goals for Moore.

 

5th March 2006

Moore A team played Ballinasloe in this local derby on sunday. Moore led 1-0 up until the last 15 minutes when Ballinasloe scored 3 to win the game 3-1. Paul Kelly scoring a penalty for Moore in the first half.

 

26th February 2006

Moore A team played Kilkerrin Utd away this weekend. Moore took the lead with a goal from Paul Kelly. Kilkerrin equalised in the second half when they were awarded a penalty kick. Moore's B team are still in big trouble when they lost 3-0 away to Moylough 79. They will need to get some points on the board soon or they will be looking at division 2 football next year.

 

29th January 2006

It was a good weekend for Moore's senior teams. Moore A team had a great 5-1 victory away to Glen Celtic. Ger Kelly opened the scoring for Moore. Glen responded within a few minutes and levelled matters. Paul Kelly added Moore's second 5 minutes before the break. Shane Colleran added Moore's third and Paul Kelly finishing off his hat trick.

The B team had a 2-0 victory over Lough Harps in falty. This was a badly needed win. Kevin Kenny scored Moore's first and the second Moore goal came from an own goal from a Lough Harps player.

The u18's had a 2-2 draw with Glen Celtic also. Kenny Kenny and Affeez scoring for Moore.

 

22nd January 2006

 Moore A team had this weekend off. The B team played a scoreless draw away to St Johns.

Moore U18's had a great 5-2 victory at home to St John's

 

15th January 2006

Moore A team started the new year with a very good win over Rahara Rvrs at falty, beating them 6-1. Moore took the lead through a Cathal Duffy goal with Shane Colleran adding 2 more in the first half. Paul Kelly score one more with Shane Colleran adding two more to his total. Rahara pulled a goal back, but the game was well over at half time. Moore B team dropped to the bottom of the Division one table with a 4-1 loss away to fellow strugglers Strokestown.

 

18th December 2005

Moore A team played local rivals Skyvalley in Onagh park on sunday. This is a game Moore completely dominated, but couldn't convert any of there chances. Skyvalley's goal came at the beginning of the second half.

Moore's B team played Roscommon Tn in falty coming away with a 2-2 draw. Moore gave away a free kick in the last minute of the game which the town scored for to make it honours even,

 

11th December 2005

Moore A team played table toppers Castlerea in Falty on Sunday. Moore came away with a 1 all draw. Joe Connell getting the goal for Moore.

 

4th December 2005

Moore A team played Glen Celtic at home on Sunday morning. This was a game Moore should have won. Once again Moore had plenty of chances to win this game but just couldn't score. Moore took the lead when Paul Kelly converted a penalty after 5 minutes of play. Celtic equalised from a corner. Celtic then went in front with a well taken free kick from just out side the box. Moore dominated the second half but failed to get a goal.

 

27th November 2005

Moore A team played Monksland at home on Sunday morning. This was a game Moore should have won. they had a lot of chances but were unable to take any of them. The B team played in the afternoon and got a draw against Heatmerchants FC at Falty as well.

 

Moore Utd's Xmas Party will be held in Millars on Friday the 16th December. All are Welcome.

 

20th November 2005

The U18 team lost out to Glen Celtic by 3-2 on Saturday evening. This ends the teams run in the FAI cup for this season.

Moore B team had a hard fought victory over Ballymoe on Sunday. They trailed 1-0 at half time. In the second half Michael Murray got the equaliser for Moore. Ballymoe went in front again when Moore's Declan Murray scored and unfortunate own gaol. Dara Hynes got the leveller again for Moore and Pat Connell getting the winner when he back healed the ball to the net.

 

13th November 2005

Moore A team had good 4-1 victory at home to Shiven on Sunday. Paul Kelly open the scoring for Moore and John Greene getting the second. Shiven pulled a goal back just before half time from a well taken free kick to leave the score 2-1 at half time. Moore added 2 more goals in the second half, the third coming from Conor Duignan and Kevin Kenny getting the fourth.

 

6th November 2005

Moore B team picked up their first 3 points of the season against Strokestown.

 

30th October 2005

Moore Utd A Team played Cloonfad Utd away on sunday and came away with a 2-nil victory. Moore got the a goal in either half. Cathal Duffy getting the first from a corner kick. John Greene added the second with a good finish. Moore B team were beaten 1 nil away to Dysart on Sunday also.

 

23rd October 2005

Moore Utd A Team played Kilkerrin in Falty on Sunday. Moore didn't take there chances during the game and this was to be costly as they lost 2-0. Kilkerrin getting 1 goal in either half. The u18 team were also defeated by 1-0 away to St. John's in the league on Friday evening..

 

16th October 2005

Moore Utd A Team played Ballinasloe in the league on Friday night in the Curragh. Moore were the better team for most of the game but they came out on the wrong side of the scoreline, losing 2-1. Shane Colleran getting the only goal for Moore. Moore B team picked up a point against St.Johns in a 0-0 scoreline. The u18's had another good win in the Connaught cup where they beat Kilshanvey for the second time this season. It finished all square after extra time (2-2), but Moore won the penalty shoot out 3-2.

 

2nd October 2005

Moore Utd A Team played Glen Celtic in Falty on Sunday. Before the match began a minutes silence was observed for Johnnie Murray RIP. The final score Moore 3 Glen Celtic 0. Shane Colleran scored the first delivered by Kevin Kenny and Shane grab the second swell, which was also supplied to him by Kevin. Kevin then scored moores third goal of the game.

Moore Utd U18 team played Ballinasloe on tuesday evening in Ballinasloe in the FAI Challenge Cup. Moore came away with a 2-1 victory after extra time. Kevin Kenny scored the winner in extra time with Phelan Lennon scoring the first goal for Moore.

 

4th September 2005

Moore  A Team got their second victory of the season with a 2 nil victory away to Rahara. Cathal Duffy and Shane Colleran getting the goals for Moore.

The u18 team had another victory under their belts with a 3-1 win away to Glen Celtic.

Moore Utd U18 played against Glen Celtic at Falty. Alan Duffy, David Lenihan and Felan Lennon scoring the goals for Moore.

 

28th August 2005

Moore  A Team got their first league win with a 2-1 victory over Skyvalley in Falty. John Greene getting both goals for Moore Alan Oliver getting one back for Skyvalley. The B Team went down 3-1 away to Roscommon Town.

 

21st August 2005

Moore B Team started their league campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Ahascragh. Enda Kenny getting the goal for Moore.

 

16th August 2005

Congrats to the u12's who clinched the league title on today due to other league results going their way.

The new season starts this weekend with both teams having games in the Premier Division and the First Divisions.

 

9th August 2005

The u12's are top of their league, leading by 1 point with 2 home games left. If they win their next game against Shiven Rovers the league is theirs. They are also taking part in the cup semi final next Saturday.

 

Our u16's have 3 games left and are still in with a chance of winning the league. They lost in the Q-final of the cup 5-4 to Loughglynn.

 

5th July 2005

Club Membership is now due. Adults €30, Students €15, U18 €10. This needs to paid before anyone is aloud to play.
