The workmen leaving their mark!
During Holly Week (April 2003) what was the Apollo Cinema was slowly demolished until not a stone lay upon a stone! A piece of history had passed.
During the seventies and eighties the Apollo had been one of the Bingo venues for PAM - the fund-raising organisation for the Passionist Mission fields. Many volunteers had given their evenings free to run the Bingo
They will have fond memories of their many friends and of Fr. Finian, Fr. Leo, Fr. Joe Kennedy, Fr. Hilarion, Bro. Martin and Bro. Eugene. The Catholic Church in Botswana and South Africa are eternally grateful for the financial help PAM and its members made to the effort to establish the Church in those lands.
