Aug 16^th - PNE keeper Wayne Henderson has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the friendly against Denmark in Aarhus on Wednesday 22^nd August. The other keepers in the squad are Birmingham City's Colin Doyle and Barnsley's Nicky Colgan.

"To be involved in the International set-up is a huge compliment and it shows that you are doing things right and playing well. I have to keep performing for Preston because that is where your bread is buttered and anything else that comes is massive bonus." said Hendo.

Its becoming a lot more common seeing a PNE player running out for the Republic: older PNE fans will recall that we had quite a few ireland internationals in the 70s and 80s. Best of luck Hendo!

PNE bid farewell to David Nugent who joins Premiership side Portsmouth today. The striker has been much admired by several Premiership clubs for the last couple of seasons and when PNE didn't go up last season, it was inevitable that he would move.

Graham Alexander summed up the feeling of PNE players and fans: "He deserves his chance".

Following the completion of The Finney Stand (formerly The West Stand), The Bill Shankly Stand (formerly the Spion Kop) and The Alan Kelly Town End (formerly just The Town End), The Pavilion Stand is the last of the old stands to be rebuilt.

The site is still in its early days but is well worth bookmarking.
