20/10/06 Update needed at the Greendoor: Well this morning I woke up a free man. I'm divorced ! Now who want's to get married ? :-) I've started my work on my I-Ching again. I'm years behind in the work. If I can transliterate one hexagram a day I'll be finished very soon. Then comes the challange of selling it and getting it published. I would love to see it become a popular version of the I-Ching. It's been another month since I rang Perlico and was told that my wireless modem is on it's way to me again. What the hell is going on !! ??? I ordered it on the 30th of June !! Well yesterday I issued them with formal notice that I have referred the matter to the telecommunications regulator and they have 10 working days to supply me with the wireless modem. This month's bill from Perlico was even less than last month. Only €38. I'm being given a very good rate for standard dial-up internet access, but it's not what I ordered is it ? And it's not 24hour always on either. I've yet to start using their broadband but they're still charging me for it. and I have to pay for 56K dial-up access and broadband access at the same time ! When I finally get my broadband, I'll be able to leave Yahoo Messenger running and receive messages as they arrive. The whole package will only cost me €30 a month and it includes all national calls for free. Check in at Yahoo Messenger to say 'Hello' - greendoor81 ==Sorry but those of you who have said hello I'm unable to leave Yahoo switched on and cannot reply to you. Sorry. But soon I'll be online. In 10 working days perhaps. I was wrong to presume that the Letterkenny Arts Center could play my digital photographic exhibition. As far as I could see they use Macs and probably don't have MS powerPoint. They ignored my letters anyway and never got back to me. Perhaps I'll run into Trealach and talk to him about it. But I seldom see him about. It could be a while. It's now been five months since I contacted the PRTB. I'm trying to get my deposit back from my former letting agent. The landlady wants me to get it back it's just that he has failed to pay me now for a year. Everytime I see him he says he'll pay me next week. Robber ! I've heard he owes money back to tennants all over the town. Anyway it seems that the PRTB are snowed under with claims. They've about 500 cases to deal with. It could take months before someone contacts my landlady. It's probably time I wrote to Taru. It's because of meeting her that I'm now divorced. I'll give her the news. Last night my scanner blew up. I did a lot of good work with it and it served me well for 6 years. And I bought it second-hand fo £70. I don't think I can afford another one for a while, which means a lot of my photographic work cannot be done till I get a new one. I first went on-line in '99 with a Gateway 2000 and a Tillamook chip. These days I'm using a Compaq DeskPro with a Coppermine P3 inside her. That's the same chip as the X-Box. With my Windows folder now 2.5GB in size who can deny this isn't "Bloatware" software ? Love & Light, Barry
