As Olympic Handball becomes increasingly popular throughtout Ireland, children at Sligo School project have been playing the game for the last three years. Both boys and girls teams from the school have taken part in the primary schools championships. Both teams did exceptionally well with the boys making it as far as the All Ireland Finals. During July 2001 some of our 6th Class pupils had the opportunity to spend three weeks in Germany where they improved their handball skills. Three children from Sligo school Project have been selected for the Connacht Selection Team. They are Jonathan Gorman, Ruairi Lynch and Ciaran Evans. They will spend two weeks in Germany and Prague during June 2002 improving their skills. |

| During May 2002, Sligo
School Project was involved in organising the biggest
handball event to be held in Ireland. Sligo hosted an
International Youth Tournament with teams from Ireland,
Germany, England and the Czech Republic participating.

Tag Rugby You can have from 5-10 players on a team. You wear tags and when your tag is taken off you have to pass the ball to someone on your team. Its not a rough game. You are not allowed to throw it forward you can also throw it to the side. You are not allowed to tackle people in the game. The team with the most points or tries win. |

The circle game.In the circle game, there are 5 circles and 5 five people. Each person stands on a circle. The 4 people on the outside have to change places with each other and the person in the middle has to get to one of the outside circles before a person gets onto it. Then that persons in the middle. Its like Piggy in the Middle. |
