Hurling

Both Taghmon/Camross hurling teams got off to winning starts in the ACHL. On Sunday afternoon the first team travelled to Fethard and had a comfortable win over Fethard B by 5-9 to 1-4. Camross won the toss and elected to play with the strong wind in the first half and at half time led by 4-6 to 0-0. The second half was more even, but Fethard never looked like catching Camross. The scorers were Nicky Cousins (2-3), Gearóid Kelly (1-1), Shane Coady (1-1), Michael O'Gorman (1-0), Robbie O'Callaghan (0-2), Tom O'Gorman, Jonathon Waters (0-1). Full back Darragh Kelly played well throughout apart from scoring the Fethard goal. Also good were Noel Doyle and Eoin Leacy in the backs, Martin Hogan and Michael O'Sullivan in the middle of the field. Tom O'Gorman played very well at full forward instead of his usual full back position and set up 3 of the goals.

On Saturday afternoon Taghmon/Camross B defeated Clongeen by 2-13 to 1-5. The scorers were Eoin Leacy (0-8), Joe Doyle (1-1), Micheál O'Grady (1-0), Michael O'Gorman (0-2), and Nicky Cousins (0-2).
