Hurling

Taghmon/Camross hurlers got back to winning ways with a comfortable victory against Buffers Alley C on Saturday evening by 9-11 to 5-3.  3 goals were scored by full forward Gearóid Kelly in the first 5 minutes which effectively ended the game as a contest.  At half time the score was 6-3 to 2-2.  Taghmon-Camross can be happy about the forward’s goal taking ability and Jason McLoughlan’s return to the hurling field.  The scorers were Gearóid Kelly (5-0), Tom O’Gorman (3-0), Robbie O’Callaghan (0-5), Nicky Cousins (1-0), Martin Hogan (0-2), Jason McLoughlan (0-2), Michael O’Sullivan, Jonathon Waters, Darren Colfer (0-1).  For Buffer’s Alley Seán O’Brien (3-2), Barry Murphy (1-1), John Sullivan (1-0).

The U-10 hurlers lost in the quarter final of the Caulfield League this week to The Rower/Inistiogue on Friday evening. The club continues to seek students interested in working for the club during the summer under the youth employment scheme. Please contact Bridie Doyle at (053) 34512. The club congratulates Peggy Doyle for whom a surprise birthday party was held on Friday in the community centre.  On Saturday after the match there was a stag night for Martin Hogan who marries Angela Burke in 2 weeks.  Entertainment was provided on both nights by John (Horse) Roche.
