Taghmon/Camross GAA Club Notes, 10 December 2001
County Bórd na nÓg chairman, Michael Stafford, took the chair for election of officers. HH He thanked the club on behalf of the County Board and Bórd na nÓg for making facilities available during the year. Officers were elected as follows. Presidents, Frs. McCormack and Brennan, Bridget Molloy, Paddy Fanning and Paddy Banville; Chairman, Denis Nolan; vice-chairman, Ger Kelly; secretary, Catriona Hannon; assistant secretary, Mary Waters; Treasurer, Mai O'Sullivan; assistant treasurer, Margaret Nolan; PRO, Breda Banville; Park and Complex Committee joint-chairmen, Paddy Nolan and Ger Kelly; Bar Manager, Denis Nolan; Lotto Organiser, Nicholas Murphy; Bingo Organiser, Ann Hannon; Membership Officer, Jim Morrissey; Insurance Officer, Tom O'Gorman; County Board Representative, Denis Nolan; New Ross district representative, Seán McGee; committee members at large, George Dee and Billy Nolan. A third member at large will be nominated by the players. George Dee and Brian Hannon were elected to the bar committee. David Foley, John Murphy, Peggy Doyle and Pat Codd were elected to the new Gym Development Committee. Paddy O’Gorman, Diarmuid Buttimer and Pat O’Callaghan were returned to the Scór committee. Managers of teams were then elected. The senior and Junior B football manager (provisional), Barry McGrath; Junior A and B Hurling, John Waters; U-21 hurling, Tom Carty; U-21 football, Jim Doyle.
In AOB, Michael Stafford confirmed that all 3 of the clubs motions were on the Clár for county convention. Derek Kent informed the meeting that two further events were scheduled for the clubhouse (concerts by Bagatelle and a return date by the Dublin City Ramblers). The organisers within the club are to be decided. Pat O’Callaghan praised the efforts of clubman Niall Lacey who won two county handball titles this year. Breda Banville thanked the club for facilities on behalf of the athletic club; Liam Morrissey on behalf of the camogie club; Paddy Greene for the Ladies’ Football Club; Peggy Doyle on behalf of the Community Games; Paddy O’Gorman for Scór; Derek Kent for Bórd na nÓg. A motion was passed that a minimum of 4 club meetings will be held during the year.
The U-21 football final against St Anne’s is fixed for Grantstown at 2:00pm on Saturday 15.
