Taghmon/Camross GAA Club Notes, 19 November 2001
Taghmon/Camross juniors paid the price for profligacy in front of goal losing by 1-3 to 0-4 to Bannow/Ballymitty in the ACFL 2B final in Taghmon on Sunday. The game was poor and both sides squandered scoring opportunities - Taghmon moreso. At half time Taghmon trailed by a point 1-1 to 0-3 but only scored 1 point to equalise in the second half. We had many opportunities to score the lead point but missed them. Ballymitty scored two late frees to win. The scorers for Taghmon were Ger Power (0-2), Darragh Kelly (0-1), Joe Doyle (0-1).
Congratulations to the Wexford Youth soccer team who beat North Dublin by 4-0 on Sunday. Taghmon-Camross player Lloyd Colfer scored the first two goals. Needless to say we could have done with him.
The coming weekend is busy on the playing front. The U-21 football semi-final is on Saturday at 2:00pm against Monageer-Boolavogue in St Patrick’s Park. The ACHL 2C final against Raparees in on Sunday in Adamstown.
There is a general meeting for all club members at 8pm today (Wednesday) in the community centre.
