Welcome to the Slieve Margy Area which is located in the south eastern corner of County Laois, Ireland. The Slieve Margy Way (47km) & the Swan Loop (16km) allows the visitor to explore some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland. The Slieve Margy Way passes along the banks of the River Barrow and then rises to over 1,000ft on the Castlecomer plateau to join the Swan Loop.

The official start of the walk is in Graiguecullen (Carlow Town) but please note that many of the villages enroute are also excellent starting points offering accommodation, car parking, pubs, refreshments, toilets, post offices & public phones
