Hurling, Camogie and Gaelic Football are Irelands national sports. Rockbán is Our local team . We have training on Thursday in Whitechurch Community Centre. The GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) is the oganiser of our games.

| St Patricks day is our National Day that we
celebrate. People wear something green or shamrock on ther jumper. Every city and town in
Ireland have a parade on St Patricks day. The shamrock represents St.Patricks day,
because St. Patrick used the shamrock to show the Irish people how God the father, Jesus
his son and the Holy Spirit are one in the same.

St. Patricks day is a very special day. St.
Patrick is the Patron saint of Ireland. He got all the snakes out of Ireland. St.
Patrick got kidnaped when he was a chlid. The people that kidnapped him, sold him to a man
for a lot of money. The man made St. Patrick work up in the high fields. He looked after
the sheep. Then he got away when he was too old to work. He returned to Ireland to see the
children and tell them storys about Jesus.

BHFIAIN (The Soldiers Song)." It is sung at social evening’s, football
matches and offical event’s like if a new building’s is opened.

Ireland. Many of my friends in my class go to lessons each week. Some of the irish
instruments are the harp, the accordian, the concertina and the tin whistle. People

h-Éireann' each year. this is the All-Ireland irish music championships. Some
play on thier own, others in groups. there are reels, jigs and hornpipes that they

Irish Dancing |
| Irish dancing is either
danced 'solo' or in groups called'figures' or 'sets'. There are school of Irish
dancing all round the world, including America and Australia. There are light dances

around the world, such as Fitzgearld, O'Brien, O'Connor and Roche. Christian names

You can always tell if someone has an Irish
name, if it is spelled with a 'fada', examples include Seán, Máire and Gráinne.

The Cliffs Of Moher
|
These majestic cliffs rise from the Atlantic Ocean to a height of nearly 200m and extend for a distance of 8km from Hag's Head due west of Liscannor to a point beyond O'Brien's Tower. They take their name from a ruined promontory fort, Mothar, which was demolished during the Napoleonic wars to make room for a signal tower. |
