Inscriptions & Imagery

Memorial erected by the Howth Fishermen's Association in 1994, "To commerate the lives of all persons lost at sea, no matter where or no matter how."

The memorial the symbolises relationship between God, man, and the power and perils of the sea.

There are thirty bronze plates along the base of the memorial, each commemorating a particular loss of life at sea. One them relates to the five crew of the fishing vessel "Geraldine", sunk by a U-boat off Lambay Island, Dublin, on 30th March 1918.

Casualties

5 crewmen of the "Geraldine" are named on the memorial.
