Inscriptions & Imagery |
Both ends of the memorial are shaped as shamrocks. The inner-frame ends in a Gaelic-style flourish (middle of top and bottom edge). The top edge has the emblem of an Arm & Sword with the scroll Lamh Dhearg Eirin; the top had has the words Lamh Dhearg Aboo in Gaelic script. The main inscription reads: In loving memory of Frederick O'Neill 2nd Lieut. Royal Dublin Fusiliers. Killed in Action at Beaumont-Hamel, France, 13th November 1916. Aged 36 years. |
