"Urbs" and "Waiting for Betty"
ON TOUR
See Back here for 2006 dates

...

Fresh from the success of Clonmels Junction Festival 2005 Woolly Sheep bring you "Urbs" and the brand new "Waiting for Betty". Audiences will now get an oppertunity to see both pieces in their entiirity in the upcomming tour. See back here for details in the future.

"Urbs" is the story of Jimmy and Ted. In a drunken state Jimmy steals the coffin of his flatmate and best friend, Angus, to have a "wake" for him as he would have wanted. The play opens with Jimmy awakening to the reality of his actions: a corpse in his front room and someone furiously knocking at his front door! Enter Ted another friend, straight from the chaos of a funeral without a body and the story unfolds with a combination of hilarious comic situations and dialogue as well as a subtle look into a subculture of urban youth.

In "Waiting for Betty" we return to the story of Jimmy and Ted one year later.
Jimmy comes to visit Ted in hospital who is just after having an operation.
Through their dialogue we get a snapshot into their lives over the
previous year and how they have (or haven't) moved on since
the wake. This play contains all the ingredients of
"Urbs" with an extra topping of comedy
which moves along at a very fast pace.
