Lundy foods 71 (40) 80 (30) Queens
Padraic Roche 26 29 John Savage
Colm Leonard 11 13 Simon Kennedy
Fergus Foody 11 6 Gavin Kennedy

In a very tightly contested game Queens saw off the challenge of Lundy Foods to gain yet another win over this young team. Although it was not as easy for them this time round. From the opening tip-off Lundy Foods went ahead by 6 points. Colm Leonard, Padraic Roche and Fergus Foody due to the strong confident defence played this. With quick drives and good breaking they were ahead by six at the end of the first quarter. (23-17) At the start of the second Queens started to play some very neat basketball and reduced the lead to two points at one stage. But Lundy Foods were having none of it and they then started to play their game, more solid defence and quality individual drives to the basket to find themselves 40-30 ahead at the end of the first half. The third quarter saw Queens mount a comeback with Gavin Kennedy coming up with some big baskets in the paint. The home team had to run themselves to the ground to keep their lead that was diminishing by the minute. They stayed in the game due to the hard work of Fergus Foody and Padraic Roche at both ends of the floor and at the end of a rather sloppy third quarter the travelling team were now trailing by a mere five points (58-53) Queens came out big in the final quarter portraying some excellent defence and quality fast breaking to level the game for the first time with less than three minutes remaining in the game. They went to work on the inside and gained a ten-point lead. Padraic Roche hitting two long threes in a row brought the home team into it in the final minute. This brought them back to within five points but quick breaking by Queens's point guard John Savage led to an inevitable victory for the Belfast side. In the last three minutes they managed to win the game by nine points.
