Thomastown too strong

On a gloriously sunny Tuesday afternoon in Thomastown, we met a strong determined Thomastown team who turned a half-time two point deficit- 1-1 to 0-2- into a 2-8 to 1-4 victory by full time.
We had the best of the first half and should possibly have made more use of our possession. The highlight of this half was a well finished goal by J.J. Hickey.
We faced a slight breeze in the second half and were under pressure for the majority of this 25 minutes. The physically strong boys from Thomastown grew in confidence and when they broke through for their second goal with ten minutes left, the result was sealed.
Daryl Butler was sound in goal for Canice's. David Glynn was rock solid at centre back, while man-of-the-match, Caimin Browne had a superb game on the wing. Others to impress were Eamon Carroll, Ml. Hayes, Evan Walsh, Evan Guilfoyle, Andrew Cantwell and Ciaran Gough.
