3.2 Public Transport

3.2.1 Buses

  • Buses should have a low floor and a ramp that enables everybody, regardless of their physical capabilities, to get on and off.

  • The interior layout should permit passengers to move around and space should be reserved for specific needs such as wheelchairs, pushchairs, bicycles, etc.

  • Buses should be equipped with an integrated audio/ visual system that automatically provides information to passengers.

  • In addition, for buses to be accessible, it is essential that bus stops and stations are similarly equipped.
