WELCOME

Welcome to this the fourth edition of the Beaver Section Newsletter. We have a number of items starting this month so this newsletter is crammed with interesting information about the coming months.

As we had the panto last weekend there will be no other activities in January 2002 but we will be having activities early in February

35TH Dublin Beaver Website

The 35th Dublin Beaver Web-site will be launched Mid-February 2002 and we will officially launch at our Beaver Investiture later in the year.

Subs are now €3.00 Euros or £2.50. We would prefer to receive all subs in Euro's. IEP currency will be accepted until February 1st 2002.

Beaver of the Month Award

January 2002 is the launch of the Beavers of the Month Award. This award we give to the Beavers who try his best during the month. We will publish the winner of the Beavers of the Month Award in each months newsletter and in May we will have our All-Star Beavers of the Year . There will be two types of Beaver of the Month there will be the Eager Beaver and the Elder Beaver Awards. The Eager Beaver is open to anyone who joined this year and the Elder Beaver is open to anyone who is longer than one year in the Colony. The Prize will be a special Neco which will be worn for one month and then passed onto the next Eager or Elder Beaver , they will also get two certificates (one for themselves and one for the wall of the Den)

To Mark the Launch of the Beaver of the Month Award we are having an Art Competition. This week the Beavers were given two items to colour in. They must co lour these in with paint , crayons etc. and return them to us before 23rd January 2002. The Winner. The prizes will be presented during February 2002 by our Unit Leader John Lawlor.

CLOSING DATE FOR ART COMPETITION IS 23RD JANUARY 2002.

Parents Meeting

There will be a parents meeting on Next Wednesday 16th January 2002 from 8.30pm-8.45pm for all parents in the section.

We have a number of issues to cover and would ask that we have at least one parent from each family attend.

The Beavers will be looked after by other leaders from the unit while the meeting is on.

Some of the issues that will be covered are:

  • The Euro Increase in Subs etc.


  • Activities 2002 *NB Very Important


  • Leader Team


  • Parents Rota


  • AOB






Beaver Section The Future

The Beaver Section has grown from strength to strength this year … and this is due to a large number of factors .. We have a number of further developments to come in the New Year which will improve the Beaver Section even further ..
