the bRidge and seemed to disappear in Tay lane, THIS FROM AN OLD MAN
REMBERINGTHE HAPPY DAYS IN RATHCOOLE AND ATTENDING THE "OLD"SCHOOL. My father

My Uncle David Joseph Coughlan owned him when he won the National in 58 and came 3rd in 1959 and I have been desperate to find a picture for the family records and have been looking on the web for ages. Its a super photo and I am absolutely delighted to have found it. |

1981. I have lived in NY since ’88. I well remember Mr. Hoban first
starting at that school. Mr. Hoban was brought to our classroom one morning by
Mr. Clonan. With them was another new teacher, a Mr. Reynolds. I must have been
in high-babies or first class at the time. Mr. Clonan asked the class which of
the two new teachers we would like to be our new teacher. The class picked Mr.
Hoban for no particular reason, and he became our new teacher. I believe we had
him for the rest of first class and all of second. Mr. Reynolds we had for
third and fourth, and Mr. Ryan for fifth and sixth. I enjoyed the site and the
pictures, and so a big thank you to all who put it together and who maintain
it. One last thing, I was sorry to hear of Michael Clonans illness and subsequent death some time back. He was a big part of that school during the years I was there, and of course before and after. |
