Aston Quay Office
The first premises owned by the company was at 19/21 Aston Quay and we were very happy to move in. It had been previously occupied by the hardware firm of Hodges and was completely altered and refurbished to meet the special requirements of a shipping company headquarters.
It remained the Head Office of Irish Shipping Limited for twenty five years until the company's main shipping operations were eventually moved to Merrion Hall on the Strand Road in Sandymount.
This final move took place in March, 1974.The Aston Quay premises were then occupied by the company's Agency Division and by some staff of Irish Continental Line which operated the car/passenger and roll-on/roll-off freight service from Rosslare to France.
