He believes Clare fans to be responsible saying that it confirmed his view of the them and that "you wouldnt expect much more from" It goes on to say that he has a spare sign but it isnt of the same quality!! seen him getting off the train in colbert station minus the sign. looked fairly b!tchy. what does he expect dragging a big sign like that around the place. by the way, he wasnt making comments like that when he was on the city end for the game, and if he feels that way he knows where to go next time IP: Logged |

In his early days, he used to drag John 3:16 around with him? Be more in his line to be quoting Andy 4:9 than anything from IP: Logged |

a charmless man indeed. They always say that you should wait for people to get off before getting on. Obviously John3:7 had had an earful from the people on the train already. if he is not able to handle the bantr he should get off the stage. Aparrantly John3:16 is harder to explain in one quick sentence than 3:7.Gob****es were always going up winding him up about it and he obviously can't handle it. IP: Logged |

If he does have another sign and takes it to the terraces for one of the major finals the GAA will be getting a protest letter from me stating that the Health and Safety regulations prohibits such signs from games. I've made it my mission in life to get this fcuker's sign banned from GAA grounds!! IP: Logged |

From the Irish Times
Mr Frank Hogan's "John 3:7" banner was pitched out of a moving train on Sunday night as he returned from the quarter finals of the Munster Hurling Championship in Cork. The Limerick man believes victorious Clare fans were responsible for tossing the six-foot long sign into the Co Cork countryside. Ironically, the monicker given to Clare GAA players and fans is Bannermen. Mr Hogan, who is not given to uncharitable outbursts, said the behaviour confirmed his view of Clare fans, who he "wouldn't expect much more from". "You'd never get that from people from Kilkenny or Kerry or Cork or Derry," he added. The former Catholic has become a fixture at GAA matches around the State, holding aloft his large sign which refers to the biblical message: "Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again." The banner was six feet long and 18 inches wide, with John 3:7 printed horizontally on one side and vertically on the other. Mr Hogan said he placed the sign in between carriages on the train from Cork. When he arrived in Limerick it was gone. "A man said two or three Clare fellas threw the sign out the window of the train before Mallow," he said. Luckily, Mr Hogan has a spare John 3:7 board, although he says this back-up sign is too flimsy and tends to buckle in the wind. Despite the setback, he vowed to continue his 12-year long mission to convert sinners at sporting events, concerts, festivals and fleadhanna. He is accustomed to people coveting his sign and once had one stolen after he left it outside a railway station in Ballinasloe while he sheltered from the rain. "Most people want to buy the sign or steal it, they want it as a trophy. "Lots of people want to be photographed with it," he added. IP: Logged |

The less religious nutters at sporting occasions, the better. It's hard enough to escape these people in real life. The other day, some annoying jesus-freak ba5tard called to the door looking for money under the pretences of something called the "church collection". This is about the fourth time in a row I've sent him away with a flea in his ear, and he still isn't getting the message. I'm seriously thinking of telling him my family is Jewish or something. Could someone settle an argument for me? I've always thought that this fruit cake worked on his own, a lone ranger if you like. One of my mates reckons he must have at least one accomplice, because first, he couldn't possibly go to all those games/events, so himself and nutbag number two must be sharing the workload. Secondly my mate reckons he's seen games where there's a John 3:7 big yellow sign in the stand behind each goal. Two signs - Two space cadets. Anyone else seen this? I haven't. Irregardless of this guys 'deficiencies/inadequacies' he doesn't deserve the spite & vitriol of some of the comments here. Should he not be admired for his single mindedness & commitment, would any other GAA fan not be lauded for attending so many games??. A bit of tolerance is the backbone of most democracies but seems to be in very short supply for this individual. Incidentally hes advertising a faith most of us here subscribe to; the phrase hypocrites springs to mind. IP: Logged |

He needs to be a bit more flexible and personable in his He leaves his sign out of his hand and then blames "clare fans" Again, I say that he seems a humourless chap and needs to Personally, I give him a very wide berth if I come within 50 P.S. I don't think he goes to matches to watch them, just to IP: Logged |

i though all these religious fanatics were calm, loving people???? all i can say to him is tough sh!t, one of the main rules in an organisation im part of is "you are responsible for your own equipment". i think someone should have said that to mister hogan. by the way if hes reading this hes not welcome onto the killinan end for the cork game after making such degrading comments IP: Logged |

quote: I don't see anything at all admirable about him. As far as all reports are concerned he seems to come from the Ian Paisley school of hell and damnation rather any true Christian convictions such as a gracious manner. The man is a pain in the fcuking hole and shouldn't be let inside any ground in the country with his sign. Remember, every time you see Mr Hogan holding up his sign as the ball goes over the bar at an important game, he is doing either one or both of the following: a)blocking the view of those behind him b)taking up the place of a genuine fan who wants to be there for sporting reasons, instead of trying to convert 'unfortunate' non-believers. It's a pity they didn't toss the man himself out the window of the train rather than just his sign. IP: Logged |

Well said lads! I've met a lot of these religious freaks in my time and a lot of them are fairly nice polite people. But this guy doesn't even have the smallest little bit of manners. My experience with him at the station was shocking if not a little bit scary seeing a grown man be so aggressive and belligerent to a woman with a baby.I wouldn't mind if he had had some sort of case,he didn't she was at least four feet away from the door.My mother was horrified by the experience and said she hadn't met anyone as rude in years. And now he's making these accusations against Clare fans without any proof? Yea we're nearly all positive it was Clare fans but there would have been some Tipp fans on that train also if it was going to Limerick.I reckon somebody has told him about this topic on Clarehurlers.com so he's taken a strong disliking to us all now.Good! I'll print this off and the give it to him the next time I see him to let him know was a cu*t some of us think he is... IP: Logged |
